The EnviroScape® Waste Management (Landfill & Recycling) model demonstrates modern waste management practices highlighting personal responsibility in waste reduction.

This hands-on demonstration helps people of all ages understand waste management practices of today and how landfills are carefully constructed to manage the long-term disposal of trash (solid waste) without harming the ground, water, or air.

EnviroScape® Waste Management (Landfill & recycling) includes groundwater well containers, full color stickers for the base of the model depicting the layers of the aquifer, and well pumps to demonstrate protection of the aquifer by modern landfill systems as compared to contamination from the old-style or illegal dumps.

EnviroScape® Waste Management (Landfill & Recycling) contains everything you need (but the water!) Easy User's Guide, map, clear base, groundwater well containers, groundwater full color stickers, 2 well pumps, trays that represent main and back-up liners and collection systems, trays that represent layers or lifts of trash, A hand pump (large syringe) for easy illustration of leachate collection systems, recycling center cards, and trash cards, including options for donation and compost, sponge pieces to represent trash, impermeable and permeable caps, garbage truck , trees, watercatcher, apartment building, weigh station, gas plant, straw(methane gas detection), house, wastewater treatment plant, recycling center, labels, spray bottles (rainmakers), felt strips (for storm drainage ditches), rubber gloves, sponge, sample liner material and a convenient bag for small components.

Some Key Activities

Rain is simulated on an active landfill cell on the model, so the audience can follow the flow of the rain through the solid waste.

The leachate is collected and then recirculated from the tanks back through the trash or transported from the tanks to a wastewater treatment plant.

Solid waste is represented with sponges and the leachate collection pumps are represented with an easy to use hand syringe.

A landfill cover is also provided to show how rain flows off the impermeable cover or "cap" to stormwater retention areas.

Recycling activity is provided, allowing audience to participate in determining what gets recycled and where certain trash should be placed.

Groundwater is shown and discussed using the groundwater well containers provided.

Each unit is shipped in a sturdy foam padded shipping box that can be transported with a luggage cart. You have the option of purchasing the Nylon Carrying Case on Wheels or the Nylon Tote/Shoulder Bag for ease in transporting the unit, but they are not required.

The NYLON CARRYING CASE w/WHEELS is made from a strong nylon material with reinforced sides, padded protection, wheels, a retractable handle and an additional side handle. It's much easier to transport, remove and replace the EnviroScape model, and much lighter to lift than the previous case that it replaces.

TOTE/SHOULDER BAG: No more zippers — place your EnviroScape model(s) in the bag & go! Plus, it's big enough for the foam padded box. The tote bag replaces our nylon shoulder bag, and is 33.5" x 28" x 10", made from strong black polyester, with adjustable handles and inside pockets.
